School dog...

School dog joining CVP!

For a considerable time, we have researched the benefits of having a school dog.

Dogs are increasingly being used in schools, as well as hospitals and care homes in a therapeutic role.

We have chosen a Labradoodle. They are a breed of dog that are recognised for their mild temperament, hypo-allergenic coats and are widely used in therapy and support.

Research demonstrates many benefits of a school dog, including:
   Reduced stress
   Foster a sense or responsibility
   Motivate pupils
   Enjoyment and enthusiasm for animals
   Improved attendance
   Build confidence in reading
   Support vulnerable children

Our school dog will attend puppy school and we hope it will become a registered therapy dog in the future.

It is possible our new school dog may arrive later this week!
